THE SIEGE

In 1347, the city of Caffa was besieged by Tartar armies. The air became infected and the water poisoned. Some managed to escape using trade routes and their boats, unaware that they were full of with infected rats. The Black Death spread across the continent, killing nearly 30 million people.
